Durham man held on $6 million bond following robbery, shooting

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) – A Durham man is being held under $6 million bond after he was arrested in connection with a January robbery and shooting.

Jeremy Devon Riddick, 22, has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault by pointing a gun.

On Jan. 12, Durham police officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment building in the 1800 block of Chapel Hill Road around 10:45 p.m.

Officers found a 37-year-old male who had been shot five times. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The victim told officers an armed man approached him. The victim said he was pulling out his wallet when he was shot.

Riddick was already in the Durham County jail on burglary, drug and weapons charges.

He is also jailed on a felony probation charge, police said.

His bond is set at $6,090,000.
