MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WNCN) — Alligators are spotted in the Spring and Summer in South Carolina quite a bit, but an image like this is extremely rare.
WCIV first reported about a gator that appears to ring the doorbell of a house after crawling up the front door.
The incident happened near the SC coast in the town of Moncks Corner, the TV station reported.
A man named Gary Rogers took video of the weird scene in which a mid- to small-sized gator has worked its way into an alcove at the front door of a home.
The alligator then “stands up” and seems to reach for the door bell.
The homeowner, Jamie Bailey, said she was at work when it happened and is not sure if the gator rang the doorbell, WCIV reported.
But, Bailey said that there were scratches on the door and on the doorknob.
Rogers told WCIV that the alligator hung out in the area for about an hour before crawling away.
