Two NC men arrested shortly after armed robbery of a Dollar General

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WNCN) – A Wilson man and a Rocky Mount man are in custody after robbing a Dollar General in Rocky Mount Tuesday.

The Nash County Sheriff’s Office says that 22-year-old Franklin Lemar Leake of Wilson entered the store on NC-97 with a semi-automatic pistol and robbed an employee at gunpoint while 38-year-old Antwon Derrain Atkinson waited in the getaway vehicle.

Law enforcement officers saturated the area looking for the vehicle. The Sharpsburg Police Department was able to locate and stop a vehicle in the area that fit the vehicle’s description. Nash County Sheriff investigators determined the two were the ones wanted.

Both suspects were charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and were sent to the Nash County Detention Center under $250,000 secured bonds.
