82nd Airborne members train, jump with German paratroopers

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – More than 100 members of the 82nd Airborne jumped under the instruction of German paratroopers in a training event known as “Operation Federal Eagle.”

The paratroopers jumped from German aircraft and were awarded wings following their jumps with a German jump master.

“Last year, we learned that quite a lot of operations were conducted by multinational-task forces. So we believe it is most important to learn from each other and to train together,” said German jump master Johannes Nesselrode.

Dutch and Canadian paratroopers also participated in this year’s Federal Eagle.
