Victim in overnight shooting in Fayetteville dies

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – One person was killed early Friday morning after being shot in a parking lot in Fayetteville, police said.

Officers responded to the 4300 block of Fox Grove Circle around 2:40 a.m. Friday in reference to a report of shots fired.

A investigation revealed Travis Elijah Freeman, 39, of the 900 block of Miller Avenue was shot in the parking lot by an unknown suspects or suspects. Freeman was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead a short time later.

The shooting remains under investigation.
