RAEFORD, N.C. (WNCN) – A Raeford man has been arrested and now faces multiple charges after confessing to raping a woman Sunday morning, the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office said.
Hoke County emergency communications received a call just before 7 a.m. Sunday morning from First Health Hoke in reference to a reported sexual assault victim being examined at the emergency room.
Detectives visited the victim and were able to get a detailed description of the suspect and the locations that she was sexually assaulted. The suspect was identified as Andrew Lamont Jones, 39, of Raeford, who is a registered sex offender.
Jones was arrested at his home and confessed to the alleged crimes. He has been charged with one count of second-degree forcible rape, two counts of first-degree kidnapping, one count of breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, and one count of assault on a female.
Jones was transported to the Hoke County Detention Center where he received a $750,000 secured bond.
