FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A woman is in custody and a man is being sought in the death of a Fayetteville man who was fatally shot last week, officials said Monday.
Travis Elijah Freeman, 39, of the 900 block of Miller Avenue was shot in the parking lot in the 4300 block of Fox Grove Circle around 2:40 a.m. Friday.
Freeman was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead a short time later.
Latoya A. Henderson, 33, of the 4300 block of Fox Grove Circle, and James E. Jones, 34, of the 5700 block of Holland Street, are charged in the case, Fayetteville Police say.
Detectives are still looking for James E. Jones and are seeking the public’s assistance with locating him.
Detectives obtained warrants charging both with First Degree Murder, Robbery With a Dangerous Weapon, and Conspiracy to commit Robbery With a Dangerous Weapon.
Latoya Henderson was taken into custody late Sunday night, without incident, in Laurinburg with the assistance of the Laurinburg Police Department.
Henderson was transported to the Cumberland County Detention Center where she was processed on the warrants for First Degree Murder, Robbery With a Dangerous Weapon, and Conspiracy to commit Robbery With a Dangerous Weapon.
She is being held without bond.
