RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Extra law enforcement will be on hand at a Wake County middle school on Wednesday, officials say.
The extra police and deputies will be at Ligon Middle School because of “rumors at the school,” said Lisa Luten, a spokeswoman for Wake County Schools.
Luten would not elaborate on the rumors. She did say that it was not a specific threat, but instead all kinds of “rumors.”
The principal of the school, Gretta Dula, was calling parents Tuesday night with a recorded message about the extra security measures at the Raleigh school, Luten said.
Both Raleigh Police and Wake County Deputies will be on the scene, Luten said.
