2 arrested in Rocky Mount gas station armed robbery

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WNCN) – Two men were arrested after authorities said they robbed a gas station near Rocky Mount late Tuesday, the Nash County Sheriff’s Office said.

Nash County deputies and North Carolina Highway Patrol officers responded to the West Mount Stop and Shop after it had been robbed, authorities said.

Within three minutes of being on scene, deputies were able to send out a description of the suspects and their vehicle.

A short time later, a state trooper saw a vehicle matching that description traveling on West Mount Drive towards Rocky Mount.

The trooper saw the passenger of that vehicle drop a revolver from the side door when the vehicle paused at a stop sign.

The trooper then performed a felony vehicle stop and detained the vehicles two occupants.

Irvin Jermaine Fields, 38, of Rocky Mount faces one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon.

Fields is being held under $75,000 bond.

Carmaine Marquiz Fields, 22, of Rock Mount faces one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon. He is being held under $25,000 bond.
