Fayetteville police investigating spree of tobacco store break-ins

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – Police in Fayetteville are investigating a string tobacco store break-ins where the suspects are entering through the roof of the business.

The break-ins occurred from April 11 through May 10. Police said eight break-ins have been reported and one business was struck twice.

Police said the thieves are stealing large amounts of cigarettes and tobacco products, totaling more than $60,000. The suspects gained access by cutting a hole in the roof.

Below is a list of break-in locations:

The Tobacco Road Outlet, 590 Cedar Creek Road, Suite 112
Sun Do, 2014 Ramsey Street
Stop One Tobacco, 817 Hope Mills Road
Smoke Shop, 541 Bonanza Drive
Kwik Shop Food Mart, 2103 Owen Drive
Discount Tobacco, 1815 Ramsey Street, two reported break-ins
Lake Lynn Short Stop, 3563 Gillespie Street, (Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office case)

Detectives have obtained images from some of the businesses and are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspects. One suspect vehicle appears to be a 1996 to 1999 Ford Taurus shown in one of the images.
