UPDATE: Teen mom arrested after 2 young NC children left outside police stations

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – The parents or guardians of two small children found unattended outside Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department offices are being sought.

Police say a two-year-old girl and a four-month-old boy, who have been identified, were found Thursday. The girl was left outside CMPD headquarters and the baby boy was left outside the CMPD’s westover division office, police say.

According to a police source, the children are believed to be related. The children are currently in foster care.

Both children were sent to Carolinas Medical Center after they were found as precaution. They were checked out and are healthy, police say.

Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage in hopes of finding the person or people responsible.

CMPD is asking for the public’s help in locating anyone who can identify the family or guardians of the children. CMPD says they have identified the children, but they have not released their names publicly.
