RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – A former Hoke County middle school basketball coach faces sex crime charges stemming from incidents involving two juvenile girls, the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office said.
In 2013 and 2014, the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office investigated two sexual assault reports that occurred at East Hoke Middle School.
Jervon Edward Robinson was named the suspect and arrested Thursday in Wake County.
Robinson worked as a teacher’s assistant and a boys’ basketball coach at East Hoke Middle School, the sheriff’s office said. Robinson was employed by the school system from Aug. 2013 through Feb. 2014, the district confirmed.
He has been charged with two counts indecent liberties with a minor, the sheriff’s office said.
Robinson is being held at the Wake County Detention Center under $750,000 bond.
