LOS ANGELES (WNCN) – A meteorologist in Los Angeles was stunned on camera Saturday when a co-worker thought her dress was too skimpy – and offered a gray cardigan.
“What’s going on?” Liberte Chan asked when a anchor Chris Burrous handed her a gray sweater.
“You want me to put this on?” she asked. “Why? Because it’s cold?
“We’re getting a lot of emails,” Burrous said.
“What? Really?” she said.
“There you go,” he said.
“I look like a librarian now!” she said.
“That works,” Burrous said.
Social media erupted over the incident.
Burrous apologized on Twitter, explaining that he offered up the sweater “in jest but I see how it seemed. I am sorry.”
Chan later addressed the incident on Facebook Live, according to US Weekly, and said, “I really wasn’t offended. People are kind of spinning it and saying that it was sexist. … I thought it was kind of funny.”
