Clayton Police hosting summer academy for teens

CLAYTON, N.C. (WNCN) – The Clayton Police Department is enrolling now in its 2nd annual Teen Summer Academy.

The free program introduces youth to their local law enforcement team.

Anyone ages 15-18 is welcome, the city said.

The dates are July 11-15 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a lunch hour at 11:30. The week-long program features a visit to the Johnston County Jail, the 911 Communications Center, a run through the Prizm shooting simulator, SWAT demonstrations, an introduction to the Clayton Police Department K-9 team and much more!

The academy is held at the Clayton Police Department right in Downtown Clayton at 315 E. Second Street.
