WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – A Wilmington woman is facing charges after being accused of firing a gun during an argument outside a nail salon in March.
Shalindra Nicole Williams, 23, was arrested Saturday and charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle.
According to Cathryn Lindsay with the Wilmington Police Department, four women began arguing outside of NC Nails located in the Food Lion shopping center in the 1900 block of Oleander Drive on March 14 around 1:10 p.m. They eventually went inside the business, but the manager told them to leave.
The women continued arguing outside in the parking lot. Eventually, the four women split up. Two women got into a silver car, while Williams and another woman got into a different vehicle.
Lindsay said the women began yelling each other again and Williams got out of her car, pulled out a handgun, and fired a shot in the direction at the other car. The bullet shattered a window in the victim’s car.
No injuries were reported.
Williams reportedly left the scene after the shooting.
Lindsay said no other arrests are expected in this case.
