David Harris, a truck driver from Rocky Mount, is the winner of the $10 million prize. He decided on the lump sum of about $6 million and will get about $4 million after taxes.

Harris said Monday he plans to keep on driving, but he also plans to buy his own truck and let someone else drive so he can be the boss.

Harris said he bought a $30 ticket last month around 1 a.m. while getting coffee and having a cigarette.

“I saw the dollar icon, so I knew I had won something,” he said. “I scratched, saw the 10. I was smoking a cigarette [and] my mouth just flew wide open.”

Harris bought the ticket at the EP Mart on Old Marriage Road in Rocky Mount.

He also said he wants to travel to Hawaii.
