GOLDSBORO , N.C. (WNCN) – The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a murder suspect who should be considered armed and dangerous.
On May 7, deputies were dispatched to 271 Zion Church Road in Mount Olive around 1 p.m. in reference to a person being shot.
When deputies arrived, they found a man lying in the backyard with a gunshot wound. Wayne County EMS declared the victim deceased at the scene.
The victim was later identified as Adam Vasquez, 47.
After interviews with witnesses and gathering evidence, the sheriff’s office identified the suspect as 32-year-old Omar Guajardo Acuna “AKA” Omar Ocuna Fajardo. Authorities say the suspect goes by the street name “Twin.”
Acuna’s last known address was Highway 403 West in Faison. He was last seen driving an older model, standard cab, Chevrolet truck. The truck is described as low rider style, two-tone, burgundy and tan in color with large chrome rims.
Acuna is wanted for murder and should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call 911, local law enforcement or Wayne County Crime Stoppers at 919-735-2255.
