NCIS: New Orleans’ Daryl ‘Chill’ Mitchell talks candidly to CBS North Carolina

NEW ORLEANS (WNCN) – Daryl “Chill” Mitchell plays Patton Plame on NCIS: New Orleans. But, it’s not his character’s life as a computer specialist that’s most fascinating and frankly, inspiring.

“When people come to me, they treat me like I’m just gonna stand up any minute, you know what I mean? And it’s a great thing” said Mitchell.

His character uses a wheelchair on the show and Mitchell also use one in real life.

In the 90’s he was a character actor who got quite a bit of work before a horrible motorcycle accident in South Carolina. The incident left him paralyzed. But since 2001, with the help of fellow actors, family and friends, he rose above it all and as part of his recovery started working again.

“I’m on the number one franchise in television, so it’s like all the work, the hard work I put in, it paid off,” Mitchell told CBS North Carolina. “I’d say to myself, ‘you know what, you gonna recover the rest of your life, so keep going’.”

Mitchell is very active on Twitter likes to talk to folks about their own challenges. He’d love to hear from you, tweet him @darylchillmitch.
