SHELBY, NC (WBTV) – A 4-year-old girl was injured in a drive-by shooting in Shelby Monday night.
Shelby police say it happened just after 11 p.m. at a home on Tom Street. A car pulled into the neighborhood and someone inside opened fire. As many as 50 shots rang out, hitting trees, rooftops and walls.
One bullet passed through a wall, through a door, and into the side of the girl.
The girl went to Carolinas Cleveland where she was airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. Police say she is in stable condition.
Another nearby home was hit in the shooting.
Police say multiple interviews are underway. So far, they have not made any arrests.
