ROCKFISH, N.C. (WNCN) — Authorities in Hoke County are looking for occupants of a vehicle who tried to lure children into their van over the weekend.

Hoke County deputies said they are looking for a burgundy Chevrolet HHR van that has been spotted around noon on Saturday and Sunday in the area of Pittman Grove Church Road and Rockfish Road, officials say.

“The vehicle attempted to lure two small juveniles into the vehicle,” Hoke County deputies said in an email.

Three young girls were walking in the area on Sunday when a man got out of the Chevrolet and told the girl to get inside the van.

The van has dark tinted windows and a tinted license plate cover.

The vehicle is occupied by two men  wearing all black with black bandanas covering their face, deputies said.

“The suspects appeared to one of the children to be white due to the color of the back of his hand,” officials said.

Anyone with information contact Detective Teasley (910) 875-3124 EXT 4042.
