Wake Forest shoplifter knocks over elderly woman while fleeing Lowe’s

WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WNCN) – A man plowed into an elderly woman Tuesday while he was running from a Wake Forest Lowe’s after being confronted for stealing, officials said.

Wallace Belfield Jr. entered Lowe’s Home Improvement and was confronted by an employee for stealing, according to Bill Crabtree with the Town of Wake Forest.

Belfield then pushed that employee began to run from the store.

While he was running, Belfield plowed into an elderly woman and knocked her over, Crabtree said.

Belfield has been charged with assault causing serious bodily injury, assault on a female and misdemeanor larceny, according to CCBI.

No other information was immediately available.
