Raleigh offers free tours of Dorothea Dix Park

Dorothea Dix property.

In an effort to boost interest in the Dorothea Dix Park Project, the city of Raleigh is offering free tours of the campus.

The tours, an hour and a half long, outline the history of the property and former hospital.

Also, the Park Dix Conservancy, Raleigh’s nonprofit partner, is offering free exercise, art classes and other activities at the park during the summer.

For those Raleigh citizens interested in the future of Dorothea Dix Park, the city is taking applications for an park advisory board.
