DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) – The Durham County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in looking a home invasion suspect.
Authorities are searching for Rodney Bernard Timmons, 20, was last seen leaving the scene of a shooting in the 2100 block of Ellis Road on May 26 at approximately 11 a.m.
Timmons should be considered armed and dangerous, authorities said. He may be driving a sedan described as a white Ford Taurus, Honda Accord or a Kia. The vehicle year and registration are unknown.
An adult female was shot during the home invasion. She suffered a non-life threatening injury.
Authorities said that according to a preliminary investigation, the home invasion doesn’t appear to be random.
De’Juan Owens was apprehended by Durham County Sheriff Mike Andrews shortly after the shooting. He was arrested on the Durham Freeway near the crime scene.
Owens is currently being held at the Durham County Detention Facility on charges of first-degree kidnapping, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
