RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A motorcyclist crashed after authorities tried to stop him for speeding more than 100 mph on a Wake County road on Saturday evening, officials said.
The crash happened around 6:20 p.m. in the 7400 block of Fox Road at Carlton Drive in Raleigh.
The incident began when a North Carolina State Highway Patrol Trooper noticed a man on a motorcycle going more than 100 mph on Falls of Neuse Road, officials said.
The motorcyclist eventually crashed a few miles away when he hit the side of a N.C. Trooper’s cruiser, causing damage to the car and motorcycle.
The man on the motorcycle was sent to WakeMed with non-life threatening injuries.
It’s unclear what route the motorcyclist took from Falls of Neuse Road to the crash site or if he was chased by authorities.
