GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – When she’s not prosecuting case in the courtroom, Pitt County District Attorney Kimberly Robb can be found at home enjoying her pets.
Robb said family had asked her take her elderly mother’s cat from Texas back home to Greenville. However, on the ride home, the cat escaped her car while parked in Memphis.
Robb said she knew she had to do something, so she spent more than $3,000 on travel back and forth to help find the cat, with some assistance from new friends.
“When I got back to Greenville, I realized I had not used social media, so I put the missing cat on Memphis lost and found pets, I put the missing cat on Craigslist, put the missing cat on every possible website that I could find in Memphis,” she said.
After more than a week of searching, Robb received a call from a “cat lady” in Memphis, notifying her the cat had been found. She flew down to Memphis again and returned to Greenville safe and sound with Cody, her new cat.
She said it shows what social media, and help from strangers, can really do.
