CLAYTON, N.C. (WNCN) – Two teens were arrested after Clayton police said they robbed two other teens of drugs and a phone before shooting one in the buttocks, officials said.
Around 9 p.m. June 9, two teens flagged down Clayton police and said they were robbed and assaulted on North Mial Street. The teens said a group of people robbed them of a phone and marijuana, officials said.
One of the victims was shot in the left butt cheek. That teen will be OK.
After an investigation, Brandon Miguel Diaz and Darryl Yamez Etheridge were arrested and charged in connection with the robbery and assault.
Both teens surrendered to police.
Diaz, 17, of Clayton was charged with two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, and two counts of first-degree kidnapping.
Etheridge, 17, of Clayton was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery with a deadly weapon, two counts of conspiracy to commit assault with a deadly weapon with inflicting serious injury, and two counts of conspiracy to commit first-degree kidnapping.
Diaz is being held under $100,000 bond. Etheridge is being held under $80,000 bond.
