DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) – A father and son were found shot to death in Durham Friday when deputies responded to a cardiac arrest call on Angier Avenue.
Around 3 p.m., deputies responded to the 3700 block of Angier Avenue after a cardiac arrest call was received.
Upon arrival, the deputies found a man and his teenage son who had been shot to death, the sheriff’s office said.
The Sheriff’s Office said it is investigating the case as a double homicide.
Neighbors said the victims, identified as Dewayne Greer Sr., 51, and Dewayne Greer Jr., 18, kept to themselves.
“It’s kind of crazy, nothing really happens out here. We be out, outside all day working on cars and it’s usually quiet around here,” said neighbor Shawn Burton.
Other neighbors said they heard a gunshot Friday afternoon but that they didn’t make anything of it.
“It’s real surprising cause it’s not like we heard screams or nothing,” said neighbor Avier Royster.
Authorities said they’re following up on leads and have no further information.
