RED SPRINGS, N.C. (WNCN) – A Hoke County man has been arrested and charged after allegedly assaulting and burning his girlfriend and her belongings on Thursday, authorities said.
Waleid Khalid Kassim Hamoudi, 28, of Red Springs, is charged with two counts of felony burning of personal property, felony assault by strangulation, assault with a deadly weapon, and assault on a female.
According to the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a call for an injured woman located at a Food Mart store in Raeford at approximately 4 p.m. June 9. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the woman who called and saw that she had been assaulted and burned.
The victim told the deputies that her boyfriend assaulted her at his home nearby. Deputies then went to the address and arrested Hamoudi after noticing blood on his clothing. Authorities also responded to the scene where they had located the burned belongings of the victim in the front yard.
Hamoudi is being held on no bond.
