TABOR CITY, N.C. (WECT) — A Columbus County woman died Saturday afternoon after being thrown from her convertible.

It happened just east of Tabor City on Reynolds Road near Peacock Road, according to Columbus County Coroner Linwood Cartrette.

The victim was identified as Sierra Patricia Neese, 22, from Cerro Gordo.

It appears she was on a curve in the road when she lost control of the car and hit a ditch on the left side near Peacock Road.

Officials say Neese was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.

No other cars were involved.
