RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A new exhibit at the Museum of Natural Sciences tests whether or not you could survive in the early 1600s.
The “American Adventure” tests your survival skills as if you were a colonist in Jamestown in 1607. Of the 104 colonists, only 38 survived.
At the exhibit, you can test your agility with a rock climbing wall, learn how to start a fire and decide whether or not to eat native plants.
Even if you don’t make it through 1607 “alive,” it’s an educational experience.
“One of the most interesting things I found out about is that most of the colonists died. Most of them didn’t survive because they died of various diseases,” said Judy Woods of Fayetteville.
The exhibit runs through September 7.
