RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – A truck hit two exit signs, went airborne and then got wedged under a bridge on Interstate 540 eastbound Monday morning, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened at approximately 5:45 a.m. on the I-540 east exit 17 Triangle Town Boulevard off ramp when a truck struck an exit sign, hit a second exit sign, went airborne and ended up lodged under a bridge, authorities said.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol said the driver, Jeffrey Hines, was driving home from work when he said he trying to change the radio station.
Hines told authorities the next thing he knew, he was lodged under the overpass.
The driver was able to crawl out of the truck. He was taken to wake med with non-life threatening injuries but later released.
Hines has been charged with failure maintain lane control.
