AR-15, shotgun stolen from NC police officer’s vehicle

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WFMY) – Someone stole two guns from the back of a Burlington Police Officer’s patrol vehicle sometime on Monday night, according to Assistant Chief of Burlington Police Department Chris Verdeck.

Chief Verdeck says the officer was in Charlotte for a training program and staying at the Home2 Suites hotel located at 6025 Tyvola Glen Circle. The break-in happened sometime after the officer went into her hotel room for the evening.

According to Chief Verdeck, a Remington Model 870 shotgun and a Colt AR-15 rifle were stolen from the back of the vehicle which was parked in the hotel parking lot.
