MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. (WNCT) — Morehead City police confirm that a man wanted for murdering a North Carolina woman has been arrested in Oregon.
David Isaiah Godwin was wanted in the murder of Wendy Tamagne.
Officers found the body of 37-year-old Tamagne July 5 around 6:30 p.m. at Country Club Apartments.
On Friday, officers released the information that Tamagne was beaten, strangled, stabbed, and her body was dismembered.
Godwin is currently being held in Clatsop County Jail. No date has been given for his extradition to North Carolina and Oregon authorities did not say what led to his arrest.
