FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — Authorities said two suspects have been arrested in the shooting death of a Selma man.
Police say Ronald Potts, 47, of Campground Road in Selma died after being one of two people shot at a home in the 1600 block of Rim Road in Fayetteville early Sunday morning.
The second victim was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Russell McCants-McGill, 21, of the 5800 block of Aftonshire Drive in Fayetteville was arrested on Monday, Fayetteville Police said.
Fayetteville Police Department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team located and arrested Russell McCants-McGill without incident along the 7200 block of Shelby Circle, police said.
McCants-McGill is charged with first degree murder, shooting into occupied dwelling, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and possession of firearm by a felon. Additionally, the suspect had multiple outstanding felony probation violation warrants.
Thomas McCants-Page was arrested July 14 and charged with accessory after the fact to first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
McCants-Page is being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center on a $600,000 secured bond.
