DUCK, N.C. (WAVY) – One person was killed, and two others injured, following a jet ski accident in the Currituck Sound, Sunday afternoon.
According to officials with the Law Enforcement Division of the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission, emergency crews responded to Sunset Watersports in the 1200 block of Duck Road around 1:45 p.m. about the accident.
Two jet skis collided and one victim was transported to the hospital and later died from injuries.
Hayden Meyer, 25, has been identified as the deceased.
Meyer was from Clearwater, Fla., according to his Facebook profile.
Two other people were involved in the accident and suffered non life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
