MORRISVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – The Raleigh Durham International Airport wants to make your international travel experience quicker and easier.
It unveiled a new mobile app that allows travelers to put their passport information and customs declaration form on their smartphone.
The app, called Mobile Passport Control, is meant to decrease wait times and get passengers through the customs line quicker.
RDU has four international flights, two to Cancun, one to London and one to Paris.
RDU says those flights are constantly growing and they’re implanting the technology in order to keep up with that growth
“When the next opportunity comes for an international service to come to our region those conversations with other carriers will go a lot easier if we are demonstrating we can fill flights,” said RDU spokesman Andrew Sawyer.
In the fall, the airport is adding automated passport control kiosks, so those who do not have an iPhone or Android device can go through the automated passport control process.
