Man sought in Raleigh sex assault

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Police are looking for a man who was involved in a sexual assault in Raleigh earlier this year.

The incident happened at about 8:45 p.m. on May 1, when a 25-year-old woman was walking in the 4100 block of New Bern Avenue, Raleigh Police said.

The woman was approached by four men and after a brief conversation, the man in the police sketch image and another man forced the woman into a nearby tree line and sexually assaulted her.

The suspects were last seen running away after the assault.

The suspect in the sketch is described as a black male in his 20s who stands about 6 feet tall and weighs about 200 pounds, police said.

He was wearing a New York Yankees cap, which is shown in the sketch, and has a tattoo on his neck that says “Jamal,” according to police.
