NC Walmart evacuated, 3 taken to hospital after pepper spray used in store

ABERDEEN, N.C. (WNCN) — A Walmart in Moore County was evacuated after someone sprayed pepper spray inside the store on Sunday afternoon.

Three people were taken to a hospital after the incident before 6 p.m. at the Aberdeen Walmart on Turner Street, officials told the Aberdeen Times.

Several other people were treated on the scene, but were not taken to a hospital.

The pepper spray was used in the electronics department in the store, which was evacuated, officials said.

At least four EMS units were on the scene. Other nearby departments in the store were also evacuated.

According to officers with the Aberdeen Police Department, officials are reviewing surveillance video from the store from the time of the incident.
