Some Moore Co. residents need to boil water after main break

CARTHAGE, N.C. – Moore County officials say that those county water consumers affected by a water main break should boil their water until further notice.

Some people in the Moore County Public Utilities East Moore Water District have experience periods of low pressure or water outages in the distribution system due to the break.

The Division of Water Resources advises that consumers should boil all water used for human consumption (including drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation) or use bottled water.

Officials say that vigorous boiling for one minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water.
