MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – Horry County Police say a woman was shot in the Tanger Outlets parking lot early Thursday morning while waiting to pick up her daughter from work.

According to a police report from the department, officers were called to the shopping center, located at 10823 Kings Road, around 12:05 a.m. in reference to a shooting.

Officers on scene found the victim sitting in her car with all the doors shut.

When the victim opened her car door, officers immediately saw that she had been shot, the report states.

While an officer was tending to the victim, he heard several voices coming from the Tanger Outlets area and the victim told the officer her daughter was in that group.

The victim had been waiting to pick up her daughter, who works at the shopping center, when two men approached her car and said “this is a stick up,” according to the report.

The incident report does not say if the criminals got away with any of the victim’s belongings, but it does describe the get-a-way vehicle as a mid-size white car.

The victim was transported to Grand Strand Medical Center for treatment.

Officers have not released any further description of the suspects or the suspect vehicle.
