HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. (WNCN) – A 59-year-old man is charged with sexually abusing children at his wife’s daycare, warrants show.
A Harnett County social worker filed the initial report in December after receiving an anonymous call indicating a 6-year-old female had been sexually assaulted by Danny Fitzhugh Parrish, 59, of Holly Springs.
The caller said the assault took place in a barn on the property of Teresa’s Tots daycare, located at 97 Country Folks Ln. in Holly Springs.
The daycare is owned by Parrish’s wife and the victim had been attending daycare for several years, warrants show.
Teresa’s Tots had its license suspended in December 2015 when the allegations were first reported. The state then terminated the daycare’s license in March.
According to the court documents, in an interview with the social worker, the victim said Parrish had “fondled her” on more than one occasion.
She also reported Parrish touching himself in front of her and showing her videos of adults with their clothes off.
A second juvenile victim also came forward and reported that Parrish would also touch himself in front of her, showed her pornographic movies and performed sexual acts on her, warrants say.
The victim, who is now 14 years old, said these incidents would occur almost daily while she was staying at the daycare from the time when she was about 7 years old until she was 12 years old, when she stopped going to the daycare.
She also stated Parrish would give her and her younger brother alcohol while they were at the daycare.
Authorities also seized a video camera and two cassette tapes, believing some of the sexual acts may have been videotaped.
Parrish is charged with two counts of first-degree sex offense with child and indecent liberties with child.
He is being held in the Harnett County jail under a $300,000 secured bond. His next court date is in August.
