CHOCOWINITY, N.C. (WNCT) – A Beaufort County National Guardsman is facing 11 child sex offense charges.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday that they had arrested 23-year old Leslie Craig Nobles.
Nobles is charged with eight counts of statutory rape of victims under the age of 15, and three counts of statutory sex offense of victims who were under the age of 15.
The investigation into Nobles began back in June, after deputies received a tip he had sent a graphic picture of himself to a girl under the age of 15. During the investigation, deputies re-opened a 2012 case, in which Nobles had allegedly had sex with a 14-year-old.
The investigation, which is still ongoing, includes 23 interviews with victims, witnesses and Nobles himself. Deputies believe there are at least nine victims involved.
Nobles is in the North Carolina Army National Guard’s 514th MP Company based out of Winterville. He is being held in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $300,000 secure bond.
Sheriff Ernie Coleman asks anyone with information on the case to come forward. You can call the investigation division at 252-946-7111, or Crime Stoppers at 252-974-6400.
