SUMTER, S.C. (WBTW) – Sumter County officers are looking for two men who broke into Tony’s Gun Shop early Friday morning.
A press release from Sumter County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Ken Bell says police arrived to the store located off of Broad Street around 2 a.m. after the alarm went off.
Investigators say the thieves broke the lock from the front door, smashed the display cases and took numerous weapons before fleeing the scene on foot.
The value of the stolen weapons is estimated to be over $20,000, the Bell said.
In video made available of the theft, the pair can be seen breaking glass cases open and grabbing items as fast they can. By just over 1 minute in the video, the pair are already gone from the store with bags full of loot.
K9 units responded to search for the suspects four minutes after the alarm went off, but were unsuccessful.
The suspects are described as black males wearing dark clothing and baseball caps. Officers say one wore a red bandanna as a face mask and the other wore a blue bandanna.
