Man arrested after obtaining $3,300 from Wake County bank with fake ID

HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. (WNCN) – The Holly Springs Police Department said a 21-year-old man was arrested after he unlawfully obtained $3,300 from PNC Bank by pretending to be the owner of the account and producing a fake driver’s license Wednesday.

Officials say Jorge Antonio Colon Jr. of Plymouth, Pennsylvania conspired with Darrell Keith Booker Lucky to obtain money by false pretenses against PNC.

Police say the offense occurred in Wake County.

The license had the name Gerardo Gallegos on it, police say. The defendant made financial transactions in the victim’s name withdrawing $3,300 from his bank account.

Colon faces charges, including felony to obtain property under false pretense and identity theft.

He is under a $7,500 secured bond and is currently at the Wake County Detention Center.
