Man shot, killed by state trooper after chase in Charlotte, sources say


CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – A man was shot and killed by NC Highway Patrol Troopers in northeast Charlotte Thursday after a car chase, multiple sources confirm.

The incident happened around 6:45 p.m. on Seven Oaks Drive near Rocky River Road. Officials have not released many details, but multiple sources told WBTV that one person was killed.

From WBTV’s Sky3, multiple emergency crews could be seen in the area. Officers had multiple large areas roped off, closing down several roadways around the scene.

The name of the person shot has not been released.

Charlotte police have not said exactly what happened, and referred all questions to State Highway Patrol.
