WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WNCN) – A man shot in Wake Forest Thursday morning has died as a result of his injuries, said the Town of Wake Forest’s Bill Crabtree.
The shooting occurred outside along the 300 block of North Allen Road around 1:30 a.m.
The shooting victim, identified as 26-year-old Sebastian Unique Smith, was found with serious injuries in front of Hope House, a community service organization. According to the Hope House website, “The primary mission of Hope House is to reach the youth and help them to improve their life skills: educationally, socially & spiritually.”
It is not clear if the shooting is related to the organization.
“He’s on Pine Street shootin’,” a 911 caller said. “He threatened to come to the apartments out here and shoot up all the apartments.”
The caller, who ran home, added, “I heard him say he was going to come back and shoot up Massey Apartments and he ran up there to Pine Street and started shootin’.”
North Allen Road intersects with Pine Avenue.
Smith was transported to WakeMed in Raleigh where he died as a result of his injuries, officials said.
The investigation is ongoing and, despite a detailed description from the 911 caller, no arrests have been made.
Detectives said there was a shooting in the neighborhood last year but said it is not a problem area.
