HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. (WNCN) – A woman was shot after a gun accidentally discharged in a Holly Springs parking lot Wednesday night, police said.
Holly Springs police officers responded to the area of 404 Village Walk Drive just after 10:30 p.m. in response to a call regarding a person who was shot. When officers arrived on scene they located a female victim in the parking behind a business. A man was also at the scene.
The female was treated by emergency crews and then transported to WakeMed in Raleigh for an apparent gunshot wound. The victim’s condition is not available at this time, police said.
Police said that the shooting appeared to be “isolated and accidental in nature, with no ongoing threat to public safety.”
The shooting is currently under investigation.
