FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – The Fayetteville Fire Department and the Fayetteville Police Department investigated a motel fire that was determined to be intentional in nature early Friday morning.
The Fayetteville Emergency Management Department responded to a fire at Boulevard Motel located at 4309 Bragg Boulevard around 12:32 a.m. on Friday.
The first engine that arrived on the scene found heavy smoke showing from the rear of the motel.
Officials say 9-1-1 Communications received multiple phone calls in reference to a portion of the motel being on fire.
Although the area of the building involved was occupied at the time of the fire, no injuries were reported, according to the emergency management department.
Officials say the fire was contained to the exterior of the building and was quickly extinguished.
Two affected rooms had smoke damage on the inside.
In total, five occupants were displaced and assisted by the American Red Cross, authorities said.
