Landline service restored in Harnett County after fiber optics cut

LILLINGTON, N.C. (WNCN) – Nearly all landlines in Harnett County were down after a major fiber optic line was cut Thursday afternoon.

Service was restored just after 8 p.m., officials said. The initial report of the outage was issued at 2:36 p.m.

Residents were still able to call 911 using their cell phones without any issues.

No other information was immediately available.
