RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – A Raleigh man told police he had taken Xanax and drank three beers before a head-on collision Wednesday night, according to a crash report.
The crash occurred around 9:15 p.m. at Southall Road and Amberfield Way in northeast Raleigh, officials said.
The report says Bryce David Burns told police he took Xanex and drank three beers before he plowed his Jeep head-on into another vehicle.
The other driver, Marlen Uriostegui, tried to swerve but Burns hit the car anyway, according to the report.
Witnesses told police Burns was weaving in-and-out of his lane 10 times before the collision.
Police told CBS North Carolina Wednesday night at least two people went to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police charged Burns with driving while impaired, failure to maintain lane and failure to reduce speed.
Uriostegui was charged with expired registration and inspection and four counts of not having a child in a restraint.
No other information was immediately available.
